Mr. Subhash Chandra Das joined as DMD at BASIC Bank

Mr. Subhash Chandra Das, FCMA, FCA has joined as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of state owned BASIC Bank Limited on Wednesday, 23 July 2025. He was greeted with flowers by the management authorities of BASIC Bank on the occasion.
Prior to his joining at BASIC Bank he was serving as the DMD of state owned Sonali Bank PLC.
Recently, an order was issued, transferring him from the post of DMD of Sonali Bank to DMD of the BASIC Bank by the Financial Institution Division of the Ministry of Finance.
Having 28 years of diversified experiences in banking and other services Mr. Das started his career as lecturer of Dhaka Commerce College in 1997 and later switched to Bangladesh Bank as an Assistant Director on May 2000.
He had previously worked as Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank covering Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Department of Banking Inspection, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Accounts and Budgeting Department etc.
During his career at Sonali Bank PLC, he had served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as well as General Manager of Central Accounts-Operation Division, Central Accounts- Payments Division, Foreign Remittance Management Division, Treasury Management Division 1 & 2, International Trade Finance Division, Govt. Accounts and Services Division, Mgt Information Division (MIS), Head of General Manager's Office Mymensingh & Jamalpur etc.
As a DMD of Sonali Bank Plc, he carried his duties covering the area of-Human Resources Development Division (HRDD), Personnel Management Division (PMD), International Trade Finance Division (ITFD), Industrial Project Finance Division (IPFD), Foreign Remittance Management Division (FRMD), Central Accounts Division (CAD)- Operation, Central Accounts Division ( CAD)- Payment, Government Accoutns and Services Division (GASD), Treasury Mgt Division (TMD)-1 & 2, Head of Local Office, General Manager Offices (GMOs)- Dhaka South, Dhaka- Central, Cumilla, Noakhali, Mymensingh etc. He also served as a Head of Credit Comittee, Head of Interest Weaver Committee, Head of Payment Switch Implementation Committee, Head of Agent Banking Implementation Committee etc. He had served as a Chairman of Sonali Pay UK Ltd, Chairman of BAFEDA Technical Comittee, Director of Sonali Investment Limited (SIL), Director of Rupali Bank Securities Ltd etc.
He also worked as Senior Financial Management Specialist-Asian Development Bank, Financial Analyst and Financial Manager of Bangladesh Municipal Development fund (BMDF) financed by World Bank and General Manager of Janata Bank Limited.
He completed his graduation and post-graduation in accounting from the University of Dhaka. He is the fellow member of both the Institute of Cost and management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He is also a Diploma Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh. He participated in a notable number of national and international trainings, workshops, seminars, symposium etc. Mr. Das is an adjunct faculty member of Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT). He is also a visitor academician of ICMAB, ICAB, BIBM, BBTA, SBTI and JBL Training Institute etc.
Mr. Das was born into a noble traditional family in Muktagachha Upazila of Mymensingh. He is the father of a son and a daughter.
