BASIC Bank signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank for refinancing CMSME

BASIC Bank PLC., A 100% State-owned commercial Bank, signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to provide working capital loan facilities offered at low interest rates and on easy terms for entrepreneurs in the country's cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprise (CMSME) sector under the formation of a  revolving refinancing Fund of Tk.5,000 crore by the Bangladesh Bank. The fund has been introduced to strengthen the CMSME sector, create employment opportunities and support sustainable economic growth in the country.

Abu Md. Mofazzal, Managing Director (acting) of BASIC Bank, and  Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of SME and Special Programmes Department (SMESPD) of Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on Tuesday, 08 September 2026 at Bangladesh Bank Head Office in Dhaka. Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank attended the signing ceremony as the chief guest.

Among others- Nahid Rahman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Md. Momenul Hoque, General Manager of BASIC Bank, and concerned officials were also present at the program.
